DEFINITION
The purpose of this job / class within the organization is to conduct technical maintenance, repair, and construction of City water and wastewater facilities.
This job / class works under close supervision according to set procedures.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (Not all inclusive) :
responsible for operating a variety of vehicles and equipment such as backhoes, dump trucks, and power and hand tools. Conducts smoke and dye testing as well as cleaning, data recording, and repair of gravity sewer mains, manholes, and customer laterals.
flushes hydrants and blow-offs; enters flushing data; collects remote tap samples for analysis.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Requires High School graduation or GED equivalent. Requires one (1) year of experience in field utility maintenance, utility construction, or closely related experience.

LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS :
Requires a Class B commercial driver's license, with air brakes and tanker endorsement with valid DOT medical card required or must be obtained within six (6) months upon appointment to the position.
Must possess or be able to obtain the following within the designated time frames listed below
The position is subject to being "on call" and working after normal City work hours as well as on weekends and holidays.
